Hello listers A few of you have replied to me on the inquires of these people. I have found them on a census record, recommended by Maisie (thanks Maisie) for Gloucester County, etc. Can anyone tell me where I can write for Death Certificates in New Jersey that may have them? Or a historical society that I could write to? Thanks. Trying to see if these 3 are from Rhode Island. If anyone knows where the 1860, or 1860 Census are online, I'd be interested in knowing, so I can see if they were from Rhode Island and belong in my family tree. Thanks to all of you. Nancy-Jo

Hello...I now have access to all my records on BULLOCK....I find two ELIZABETH BULLOCKS: one born to Amos Bullock and Margaret Butcher on May 22, 1789. She was the sister of my 3 gr.grandfather, Thomas. I do not have info on her spouse. Source: Early Church records of Burlington Co., by Charlotte Meldrum, Vol. 3 >From info gathered by Judy Olsen of Burlington College, I find an Elizabeth Bullock born 1782, m. David Taylor...However, her parents were ISAAC bullock, b. 27 May 1749, died 30 May 1820. Isaac married ELIZABATH ROCKHILL, b. 26 June 1754, daughter of Edward and Elizabeth (Taylor) Rockhill of Chesterfiled Twp., Burlingto Co. NJ...their children were Edward, b. 1 July 1776; Margaret, b. 20 Aug. 1779 (died in infancy) ELIZABETH , b. 1782, m. David Taylor; John, b. 13 Jan 1785; Isaac, b. 19 Sept. 1787; Joshua, b. 1789, m. Deborah Corlies; Amos, b. 4 Oct. 1791; Nathan b. 2 May 1794, and Mary , b. 14 March 1797. There are several AMOS BULLOCK men, but only one married to Margaret Butcher. Hope this helps...many records can be found in books by Charlotte Meldrum title Early Church Records of Burlington Co. Vol. 3 I have spent many hours trying to sort out the Bullock family in Burlington Co....but it is a maze! I am only certain of Thomas, son of Amos and Margaret Butcher, as he was left a legacy by John Butcher, father of Margaret. Good hunting. MaisieAnn@aol.com MaisieAnn@aol.com
Trying to reach Mr. Mac Avoy (lost his email address) who was compiling info on CW vets burial sites.... Now that I have access to my full records, let me tell you about what I think is a mixup and perhaps can never be corrected. Obviously, I do not know for sure whose body is in the grave marked John Bullock in Pemberton Methodist churchyard,. but it should be my 2 gr. grandfather, JOHB B. BULLOCK, b. 1813, died Jan. 7, 1864 (I have d.c. and written testimony to pension fund by family members.) Most likely, at his age in 1861, he would not have joined up or have been drafted later. The family plot in Pemberton contains the graves of Elizabeth Quigley BULLOCK, wife of John B. Bullock, and son THOMAS BULLOCK, drummer boy in CW, died of typhoid at age 17,and deserves the marker at his grave site. There was a John Bullock in the CW in a NJ regiment. He was JOHN L. BULLOCK (notice the different middle initial) John L. Bullock was born in Philadelphia, PA Sept. 25, 1839. His wife was Adaline E. Bullock. From info found in Civil War Index Files T288, roll 61, JOHN L. BULLOCK was in 6th NJ Regiment, Infantry, Co. G. He filed for pension Aug. 27, 1869 as an invalid, and died Sept. 1870 in Philadelphia. May 9, 1910 his wife filed for pension, Most likely his grave is in Penna. ??? Perhaps you cannot do anything with this information. I wrote to Dept. of Vet Affairs and was "blown off." But the headstone in Pemberton looks like the typical govt headstone. The Bullocks were poor, and Thomas headstone looks like the one for John, but I cannot find out who placed the stones following what records...anyway, thanks for your work that you are doing and thanks for reading all of this. Hi! The Burlington County Library Headquarters in Westampton has a card index to newspaper obituaries for the local newspapers for the 1800's to the early 1900's. We are currently in the process of transcribing all our card indexes (obituaries, marriage announcements, birth announcements) into a database, but the project is not complete. Look for updates! The Library has a small fee for research which is as follows: "The Burlington County Library policy requires that requests for information from people without our library card or outside our service area submit a $5.00 search fee plus $.25 per photocopy. A check should be made out to Burlington County Library. Please mail it to 5 Pioneer Blvd. Westampton, NJ 08060." You may send initial inquires to reference@burlco.lib.nj.us. Thanks!
