A kind person sent me an obituary for an ancestor. On the page was a lengthy obit of one Lt. Joseph L. BOWKER, no age given, but the obit was published March 20, 1845, in the NJ Mirror. It implies that he was single and left a parent and a brother and sister, no names given. It also stated that he formerly resided in Phila but remains brought to Mt. Holly Cemetery...I know there are several researchers who collect the Bowker surname, so if you want full obit, contact me personally, not the list. MaisieAnn@aol.com

Hi All - my search has brought me back to Burlington Co. - no real surprise there! Anyway - I'm still searching for my elusive Elizabeth BURR, born about 1820 ? Folks have kindly sent much data on certain Burr lineage - unfortunately, I can't tie Eliza. to this material. What I have to work with now is this - an EDMUND W. BURR, wife - POSTREMA ??? - of Mt. Holly. According to LDS, they have a daughter, in about 1818, and they name her Elizabeth. So, guess I'm asking if anyone out there is familiar with this Edmund line? Was wondering if someone has access to the index for this census(1920). I have access to the census. I am trying to find some relatives in Philadelphia, Philadelphia County. My great grandmother was Hannah Hughes. I have not begun to research this line yet. She lived until the mid 1960s or 70s and she was about 80 when she passed away. She had one child Frances, my grandmother. I know they were from the Philadelphia area and she lived the last of her life in Atlantic City. The family, as it is told to me, was quite prominent but that's all I know. I write this as your posting seemed to present an opportunity for me on this line and I thank you. Someone recently sent me an email to let me know that a friend of hers who is a book dealer recently acquired an estate containing the book "An Historical Narrative of the ELY, REVELL and STACYE Families" by ELY, REUBEN, POWNALL (1910 1st Ed). She says these families are among the founders of Trenton & Burlington, although I don't know if that is accurate. In any event, her friend is asking $150 for the book.
