I have been helped by so many wonderful people on this mailing list and I want to help someone else. I have just received a out of print book called "The Letts Line" family genealogy by Hubert Letts and will be happy to do lookups. It has the names, dates and facts about MANY people from Burlington and the surrounding counties from the 1600-1900's. The index is large so please give me the full name of your ancestor and time frame. This book is a very good source of information. Hi, I am trying to find some information on my husbands grandmother, Constance Jobes. She was either adopted twice or was a foster child once and adopted once. She was born 10/7/1894 in Burlington County as far as we know, and died in Lawrenceville, NJ 3/7/1986. She married Wilhelm Erhard on 6/3/1917.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. I want to thank everyone who responded to me. It was great!!!! I'm going to Lower Bank first to look around the area and cemetery. Then to the Burlington Lib. This is a great list! I will be leaving first thing tomorrow. I have AAA maps and print outs from map quest. Also print outs of all the advise. Thanks again Paula
I am researching in Burlington County, Bernard GRANDIN (GRANDON, GRINDING, GRANDY, GRONDAIN) who married Sarah POINCETT (PONSED-and other spellings) on 29 December 1740 in ST Mary's Episcopal Church (formerly ST Ann's). Their son Edward was baptised there on 15 July 1744-born 12 June 1744. Bernard GRANDON is buried in the church cemetery-no death date-born 1717. He was a weaver. Sarah is believed to be the daughter of John POINSET married to Jane ESSELBY. She does not appear to be buried in the church cemetery. Edward GRANDON, the son married either the sister of a John DAVIS (b. abt 1740's), John DAVIS married Edward's sister, or John DAVIS and Edward GRANDON married sisters of a different last name. Edward GRANDON may have been trained as a blacksmith. He had a son William, who was a blacksmith, born about 1774 and possibly a son Bernard (Barnet, or Henry Bernard)-married Hannah ENOCHS, and a daughter Mary-who married William Frances KIRK. There was also some sort of JORDAN family connection somewhere along the line. I believe Bernard GRANDON is somehow related to the other GRANDINs of New Jersey, But have not found the connection yet. They were also in the weaving, dying, and fulling trade. Pam

Hi, Who are you looking for in 1900? Give me first and last name of head of household and I can check Soundex (index) next trip to library. Claire in Howell, NJ
I am from SC and spent 2 days of research in Burlington County a year ago. I went to the county library where there are many census and other items on film along with a number of readers. That may be our best bet for film. I spent a day at the Burlington Co., Historical Society. They only had one film reader that I recall but, they have a wealth of information. The staff were extremely helpful and didn't mind a newbie floundering around in their stacks of books and excellent file cabinet filled with many genealogy related information. I am sure some kind sole will give you the addresses, directions and hours. Rick in SC I want to visit Burlington Co. around Camden and then Lower Bank to search more on my family. I live in florida. Would anyone know where the Burlington Historical society or (Genealogical) would be? Is it worth the trip to visit? Do they have census there? Any advise? I hope to find the cemetery where my family members are buried. They lived in Washington Township and I believe that's close to Camden. Right? I'm looking for the family of Jesse Adam Weeks 1844-1895 who was married to Anna Allen. and their children. I only know of 3 Jesse Allen, Minnie and Lawrence. I don't know the names of Anna's family. No one has the 1900 census close to me. (that I know of) Thanks Paula
Dear Listers, Does anyone know what the initial "B." stands for in my 2g-grandmother Ann B. Haines's name? She was born N. Vincentown, Burlington co., NJ to John Haines and Martha Phillips; m. 9 Feb 1837 Nathaniel Middleton Dudley (1810-1899) of Moorestown, Burl. co., NJ. My mother has researched this part of the family since 1966 and has only seen the name recorded with the middle initial -- never with a name, and never without the initial. Would also love to hear from anyone researching this family. I have a lot of info on these people and am willing to share. Any help would be appreciated.
