Jim, There are quite a few Manions in the Camden Co. 1900 census. This is right next to Burl. Co. Is it possible they were living there for a while? Just a thought. Good luck, Joan
Hi folks, A while back, I thought to put up a page on the Burlco site with pictures and mini profiles of folks researching in the county. To date, I have received NONE. Would really like to see this page take off. there are alot of you out there. I had an email just yesterday from a lady trying to find other profiles besides mine...had to tell her no one responded. Come on, don't be shy. Waiting to hear from you all. :) Diane DeMore Burlington County Website Co-ordinator http://www.shovergen.com/njburlin/index.html -------------------

Judy received your e-mail of 10/23/01 which was negative for the above captioned subject. I found a reference in some old notes that I have that there was a Margaret Manion, Burlington Cty, page 1079, Eversham Twsp. What can you tell me about Eversham Twsp. Do you know if their are any Catholic churches or cemeteries there. Jim Malone

Hi Bill, This is a different VANDEGRIFT family though likely a cousin. Jesse VANDEGRIFT who married Rebecca MIDDLETON died in 1814. In 1816, his widow remarried to Edward HUBBS. She died in the 1860's. She had 3 children from her first marriage--Middleton VANDEGRIFT who married Louisa KRAFT, Jane VANDEGRIFT who married Wesley PEAK and Daniel VANDEGRIFT who married Mary APPLEGATE. I have the estate papers for Jesse VANDEGRIFT, the marriage records for Rebecca and deeds which name the VANDEGRIFT children. Jesse VANDEGRIFT who died in 1814 was the son of Abraham VANDEGRIFT and Jane VAN SCIVER. Kathy Karn

Hello, Quite some time ago, someone posted a link to a site instructing how to write your own personal history. Does anyone still have that link? Thanks, Kim Pennock
I dont know if any of the Manions buried at St. Paul's cemetery are relatives as I was never able to identify any relatives. That is what Im looking for so as to find out where Bridget Manion family came from in Ireland. I am unable to determine anything on the Malone's. However, I didnt know there was an Irish cemetery and that is quite interesting to me. Does St. Paul have burial records? Would you know if there are a Malone's in the cemetery? How come the cemetery is known at the Irish cemetery? Can you give me a contact person at the church or cemetery. Bridget sons Maurice (later changed to Martin) was born in 1846 in Burlington city and after the birth the family went to St. Johns in March for his baptismal. I have his church records. Either the family was working in Burlington or else Bridget went to visit a family member until she had the baby. I do know there were a lot of Irish in Burlington at that time. Do you have a contact person or number for someone at the church or cemetery. Im sorry that I cant help you at this point but you have given me some leads to follow up on i.e. obits or church records for James Manion. The trouble with the Irish is that they left poor trails. I wish you luck on your book. Jim Malone

Seeking info on Bridget Manion (1821-1879) who was married to John P. Malone (1809-1878). First know child Maurice/Martin born Burlington City 1846. From the 1860's family members lived in Trenton area until 1970's. I have a solid family history from 1860 to present. Family married Quinn, Rogers, Clancy, Fearen from Trenton and Snyder from Baltimore area. I have been working at this for over 10 years and using all federal, state and local sources cannot locate when or where they came into USA. Bridget death certificate only states Ireland and lists father as B. Manion.
