Margaret GILBERT was the daughter of Benjamin & Abigail HOLLOWAY, and the widow of Amos GILBERT (died 1859). I don't have any other information on the HOLLOWAY family, but based upon the ages here and the common given name, I would suspect that Benjamin HOLLOWAY was Margaret's brother, and Anna Mariah was his wife. Looking for information on women who played in the Burlington County League around 1938-1940. Teams included Marlton, Burlington, Riverside, Roebling, Florence, Maple Shade, Bordentown and Beverly. I am doing research for an upcoming article on women in Sports in the decade of 1930-1940. Also interested in information on May Jordan who played for the Americanettes in Madison Square Garden NY. Thanks for any help, especially with players names. Usually only the pitcher was named in the news. I think the Marlton Royals may have been champs in 1938 or it may have been Roebling.?? I'm related to the McAbee family supposedly from GA. The problem is, there are no records of our McAbee in GA. I notice that there are the names, McAbee, Stratton and McPherson in the New England area. Since his parents were Stratton and McPherson and now we see McAbee also in New England, I wonder if there is a connection. Joseph Jefferson McAbee, parents were Joseph McPherson McAbee and Elizabeth Eileen Betty Stratton. Any ideas? Marge

Hello New Jersey Researchers, I have started the update to the New Jersey USGenWeb web site. You can find the site at: <http://www.virtualnewarknj.com/gennj/subindex.htm> or <http://www.rootsweb.com/~njgenweb/subindex.htm> I've decided to have a main site and a mirror site. The sites will be identical but in case one server is down you can always check the other. At the site you will find a reorganization of the old information along with some new information. I'd like your input to add more information to the site. We will do that one section at a time, so please review the following section and email me with any additions you have: <http://www.rootsweb.com/~njgenweb/research/vitals/index.htm> Please remember this is the state site and all information should be about the entire state not just a single county (i.e. where you would find birth records for the entire state). The New Jersey Historical Society is about to open their new web site. I don't know what will be there or if they followed our suggestions but we will find out this month. The address for the site is: <http://www.jerseyhistory.org/> Thank You, Glenn G. Geisheimer <njsc@virtualnewarknj.com> NJ State Coordinator USGenWeb Project <http://www.virtualnewarknj.com/gennj/> <http://www.rootsweb.com/~njgenweb/index.html>

Hi MaisieAnn and all, On the census below, that should be John "E." CARTER and wife, Hannah. (not Harriet) John was the son of Jacob and Effie CARTER and had siblings: Mary married to Aaron DENNIS; Ann married to John BUTTERFIELD; Ellen married to -?- GREEN; Hannah and Phebe (twins) and Charlotte. John E. was first married to Ann (possibly CLAYPOOLE) and secondly to Hannah. All children were by first wife, Ann, who died 19 Sept 1854 and is buried Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery. If anyone has any information on this family and related lines, I would be interested. Thank you. It is possible that Jacob (father of John E.) is the son of Joseph CARTER and Mary GASKILL. - only a theory at this point. Hi Listers: Does anyone have or have access to a book on the STRATTON family of LI and Burlington County, NJ? I'm interested in Daniel-born about 1715 who married Mary Sharp. I'd like to know his ancestry and/or the names and dates of his children - particularly the daughters. I would be grateful for ANY of this information. Thank you all SO much! Judy
