    3. Hi folks, I think that this topic has reached the end of its usefulness for this mailing list. If you wish to continue discussions of myfamily.com, spyware, or other topics unrelated to Burlington County genealogy, there are other resources available which are no doubt more appropriate. As for connections to Burlington County - I had no luck with finding any of my local ancestors from that time period in the database. In addition, I did a couple of quick searches for *anyone* from Riverton, Cinnaminson or Riverside and found no one. Searching only for "New Jersey" returned a bunch of results, as expected. Has anyone else had luck in finding Burlington County ancestors in the database? I am curious whether I made some stupid mistake or our area is not included in the database. 3. Thanks Joan, perhaps that's why he did it. It wouldn't have been such an issue for me if it wasn't well known in our family that he ALWAYS knew when his birthday was. Anyway, it's a great resource...thanks for sharing! Kim >From: [email protected] > >Hi Kim, >The WWI Draft cards were filled out by the registrant himself. 2. Hi Kim, The WWI Draft cards were filled out by the registrant himself. As to why the difference in his birth dates only he knows. Perhaps he used the Feb. 18 date since this was the one officially recorded in Italy. Regards, Joan In a message dated 11/17/2005 10:10:35 P.M. There's an oddity though. He was born on Feb. 12, 1899 in Italy. We all knew his birthday, and used to tease him about being born on the same day as Abraham Lincoln. Even when he was older and somewhat confused, he still knew when his birthday was. I just returned from a trip to Italy with my family, and we were able to visit my grandfather and grandmother's respective hometowns. (I have been back less than a week and am still suffering from jet lag). The people in my grandfather's hometown showed us his birth record, which showed a birth date of Feb. 18. They explained that this is when the birth was recorded, and as often happened here, it sometimes took a while for parents to get to the courthouse to record the birth. Now back to the draft record. The birth date listed on this document is also Feb. 18th. At the time this was done, he had been in the country only about 2 yrs. I don't know if he would have had anything official with his birthdate on it. He was born at home in a very poor, rural town. But I wonder why the Feb. 18th date was recorded. We have never, ever heard this as a possible birthdate for him until last week. He moved to Burlington Twp in 1936 and lived there until he was too old to care for himself. He died about 10 yrs ago at the age of 95. Sorry this is so long...the birthdate issue really threw me and I just don't know why he would put that date down if he filled out the form himself. 3. Is there any way to quickly jump to a name? For instance, I am searching for a "T" name, and clicking on "T" took me to "Ta..." However, I want a "Tr..." Will I have to go through all the T names through the alphabet until I reach Tr? Thanks for any help/suggestions. I had two uncles and my father that I want to look for. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, November 17, 2005 8:01 AM Subject: NJBURLIN-D Digest V05 #187

Joseph Pope was born in Jun 1704 in what is now Burlington County New Jersey in the township of Mansfield. On 3 Feb 1742 he married Mary Black the daughter of John Black and Sarah M. Rockhill. Their children were Joseph, Nathaniel and John. Joseph was the son of Nathaniel Pope and Hannah Basnett. Nathaniel came to this country as an infant or small boy with his parents Joseph and Elizabeth Pope. Nathaniel was born in England. His father was from Button Stature, Co. of Lincoln, England. There doesn't seem to be a link to the Popes in New England and the Popes in Virginia or New Jersey. Rick
