The Enright family appears in the 1870 census (children: James, John, Thomas, Dennis, Ellen and Mary) and in the 1880 census, on Farnsworth Ave, in Bordentown. 1. Thomas Garwood & Mary Ballinger - Please Help
    2. Eleanor Watson
    3. According to various sources on the Internet, Thomas Garwood & Mary Ballinger had a daughter named Abigail whose birth is recorded among the Egg Harbor Monthly Meeting records. Abigail's birth is given as 13 da 6 mo 1735. It is further noted that Abigail married ca. 1755 to David Mason. The 1808 Will of David Mason does not mention wife Abigail, but does name his children: Thomas Mason; Case Mason; Elias Mason; Joseph Mason; Isabella Howsler; Jerusha Amett; Abigail Hackett; Hannah Hackett; Rebecca Ireland. I'm trying to substantiate that David Mason's wife was indeed Abigail Garwood (dau. of Thomas & Mary). Can anyone provide any proof? __________________________________________ Yahoo! 2. I just looked at the 1870 census--Samuel and Mary HOOVER did have a son William aged 16. Do you have William's marriage or death certificate? I will send the census image to you separately. There is a death notice for a William HOOVER of Jersey City formerly of Burlington who died in 1924. Here is a link to the indexes. The age does not match exactly. _Newspaper Notices Indexes_ (http://sql.bcls.lib.nj.us/gen/) Kathy Karn

    1. Hoover family
    2. Rhonda K. Hoover
    3. Hello. I am doing research on my husband's family. Here is what we know. His grt-grandfather was William J. HOOVER b. 1853 in NJ (we are almost positive in Burlington Co.). He married Charlotte HAINES and later (abt 1898) moved to Newark. I am thinking that William's parents were Samuel and Mary HOOVER from Burlington, Burlington, NJ. I have found William and Charlotte on an 1880 Census living in Burlington, Burlington, NJ and a few lines above them is Phebe HAINES- the mother of Charlotte. For this reason, I am thinking that William belongs to Samuel and Mary. There was apparently another William HOOVER b. 1853 in Burlington Co. to Michael and Anna HOOVER, but while in NJ they lived in Bordentown and later moved to MI. Therefore, I have placed them on the "not likely" list. Can anyone confirm that our William J. was born to Samuel and Mary? Thanks in advance for your time and effort. We would appreciate any info regarding our family lines. Rhonda Hoover

    3. The NJ Archives now has an online index for their marriage records from 1666 through 1799. Visit the NJ Archives web site at: http://www.njarchives.org/links/archives.html Click on "Searchable Databases" then select the marriage database. Currently the only other database is a Supreme Court case files database, but hopefully they will be adding more databases over time. Their text for this database says the following: "This database indexes the Secretary of State's Marriage Bonds and Licenses, 1711-1795, as well as marriages recorded in colonial deed books and other collections."
