Welcome, I noticed you have Shinn in your list. My family (Johnston,Monroe's) knew Shinn's in the Delanco, Moorestown area. Mike Gilbert, who has ably served as the admin of this list and the corresponding message board for many years, has decided to step down as list/board admin due to time constraints of managing the list and board, and I've agreed to handle the admin duties for both. I'd like to thank Mike for his excellent handling of the Burlington County resources at RootsWeb over the past years, and I wanted to let everyone know that I don't plan on making any major changes to the list rules or policies or procedures. I've added a couple little reminders to the footers on the list messages and a little note to the digest header. Hopefully they will be helpful. I will also be sending through all board posts via the message board gateway to the list. Please remember to click the link in a gateway message if you wish to reply to it, and post your reply on the board rather than posting a reply to those messages on the list where the board poster may not see it. As to my own connection to Burlington County research--most of my maternal ancestors are from Burlington County dating back as early as 1677. The surnames include: BORTON, LIPPINCOTT, SHINN, RIDGWAY, HAINES, EVES, LORD, WILLITS, BUTCHER, BUNTING, and on and on. So please continue to use the list and board as you have in the past and if you have any questions of an administrative nature or require assistance, I can be reached privately at: [email protected] . I am trying to find information on Sarah Jane's parents. I have Sarah Jane s birth as April 21, 1849 in Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey. Her parents are Joseph Tyson and Sarah Ann Unknown. My ggg-grandfather is Joseph Tyson, born in PA., wife Sarah Ann Unknown, born in New Jersey. I am trying to find Sarah Ann's maiden name. Sarah Ann was born September 12, 1819 and died December 03, 1886 in Norristown, PA. Sarah Jane has two older and two younger siblings - Mary Ann, born about 1838 in PA, John Randolph, born July 25, 1846 in PA, Martha, born about 1852 in PA, and Josephine, born about 1855 in PA. All lived in Norristown PA. in all censuses from 1850 on, so I think Sarah Jane may have been born while Sarah Ann was visiting family in N.J. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Deb

Hello, I am searching for information on Ruth M. KENNEDY b. 22 Mar 1920 place unknown. She married Charles Martin GRUNO (date unknown) and they lived their lives in Camden, NJ. They had at least one child, Ruth Mae GRUNO who died in 1968 in MD. Charles Gruno's parents were August and Bertha (MARTIN) GRUNO and they had ten children. August GRUNO immigrated into the US in 1892 but I don't know what port he entered and Bertha MARTIN immigrated to the US in 1890 and I do not know where she came in either. Does anyone know any information on this family, specifically Ruth KENNEDY? Hello All -- Listen, I'm by no means a "seasoned" researcher, and really lack knowledge in certain areas. I say this to explain what might seem like a wild goose chase created by this posting. I've been looking for one Sylvanus COX, b. c. mid-to-late 1700's and d. probably after 1860. He lived a good deal of his life in Monmouth/Ocean Co., (keeping in mind the formation of Ocean from Monmouth in 1850). I have lots of anecdotal info -- deeds, census reports, "news" stories, etc. that prove his existance, but even after dealing with Archives and Historical Societies, can not come up with any birth, death, will or burial info. At one point, I seem to recall someone telling me that this info "might" be recorded in Burlington Co., as it was considered the "main" place to send these records, for quite a while, even tho one did not live there?? Can anyone educate me on this -- AND -- if I've posted this before, please forgive -- getting the "brick wall frustration syndrome" and may be losing "track" :))) Thanks friends and keep well -- Terri
