I'm prompted to ask if anyone knows anything about a Jemima BURR -- she married Sylvanus COX in 1824. They resided in Monmouth Co. and later, I believe, Ocean Co. when it was formed in 1850. As for Henry Burr -- I think I have a small bit of info on him somewhere in my files -- it's probably something all have already seen, but I'll dig it out and send it along. Keep well all -- Terri in very rainy WA!!
Okay--I have a question for the list that I've had in my files for many years now. I'm wondering if anyone has the answer to the following discrepancy? The LIPPINCOTT book page 77 lists the children of Daniel LIPPINCOTT and wife Elizabeth PIMM. Daniel is the son of James LIPPINCOTT and Anna EVES. Elizabeth PIMM is the daughter of John and Mary PIMM. I've seen the will of John PIMM which specifically states that Daniel LIPPINCOTT is his son-in-law. I have never had reason to doubt the LIPPINCOTT book and the sources for the listing of Elizabeth PIMM as Daniel's wife. However... Early Church Records of Burlington County, New Jersey Volume 2, page 163, Evesham Monthly Meeting Marriages includes two listings for children of Daniel and Elizabeth LIPPINCOTT and the listings read as follows: Amos Atkinson, son of John and Mary [MIDDLETON] ASHEAD, he being dec'd., of Evesham and LIydia LIPPINCOTT, dau of Daniel and Elizabeth [HANCOCK] LIPPINCOTT, married 12th day, 3rd mo, 1767. and... Nathaniel MIDDLETON, son of Hudson and Christine [HOPEWELL] MIDDLETON of Chester, and Sarah LIPPINCOTT, dau of Daniel and Elizabeth [HANCOCK] LIPPINCOTT, married 14th day, 4th mo., 1768. My question is where did the name HANCOCK come from and how do we reconcile that with Daniel LIPPINCOTT being listed in John PIMM's will as his son-in-law? The Evesham MM records transcriptions one would assume to be accurate but--has anyone every looked into this discrepancy and whether or not Elizabeth is actually a PIMM or a HANCOCK? Joan

Thanks Mike for a job well done, and welcome Joan.!! Recapping my research so far. This list has helped me greatly in finding the families of my ggreatgrandmom Martha Jane Wills McMullen,b. Washington Twp [ later Shamong] abt 1846, died Lakeland Florida, July 1887. Her Father was George Wills , [1808-1884] who with his wife Mary Delette Wills , was InnKeeper at Buttonwood Hill Tavern in Crowleytown, Wash Twp, Burlington Cty in 1850. [Thanks again to Rick for finding their stones in Tabernacle Cemetery.] I believe that my George [1808] is a descendant of Dr Daniel Wills through his son, Daniel II, and HIS son Daniel "Newbold" Wills and one of HIS sons--- either David [and Martha Crispin] or John [and Sarah Griffith] Each brother had a son named GEORGE who was the correct age to be FATHER to MY George, b. 1808 ----and info from other descendants suggests that my George's father was also named GEORGE. I also believe it is so difficult to connect him to the correct family because the WILLS were Quaker and the DELETTES -Mary's family- were Irish Catholic--- a difficult departure for this couple on both sides. I would welcome any further discussion or information on the background of this family, Other than the fine and helpful info [and pictures] from Dr. Richard Wills, who may well be a cousin closer that 5th.--- He supports the David Wills line for my GEORGE. Thanks again , Richard. Steph P. Cecil [email protected]

I am sosmehow connected to Lippincotts - perhaps before they came to Burlington County. Restore and Hannah Shattuck are my eighth great grandparents. I descend Lippencott, Gaskill, Newbold, Bortner and Williams. The Williams traces back to Beck, Gibbs and many more NJ families. Beulah Williams is the common conection to all of these families. Josiah and Beulah Wi8lliams Coulter are my great grandparents. Lots more if of interest. A gedcom of Beulah Williams goes back at least 10 generations to NJ, Mass. and England.
