Letters to the Editor - The Bergen Record - Thursday 1 Feb 2007 My name is Patrick Lernout. I live in Waregem, Belgium, about a mile from the American Flanders Field Military Cemetery. I am interested in the history of World War 1, so this cemetery has my special attention. I started to write a book about soldiers who gave their lives for our freedom and who are buried here. I think it would be a nice tribute to them. One of them is Charles Stalter, who lived in 1918 in Park Ridge. He was killed in action 31 Oct 1911, 11 days before the end of the war. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has information on or access to his history, addresses, pictures.
