The name is William Carroll Fowler. He would have died June 20, 1918. This is my Dad's Uncle. The family story was that Uncle Willie died while working on the Panama Canal. But everywhere we looked we couldn't find him. Then we found an obituary that said he was at Camp Merritt.If you could find his name on the Monument then we can tell the true "family story".I know for one my Dad will be excited to hear this news.
