Fowler--the names are in alphabetical order. The monument's wording implies he died at Camp Merritt--something like, "in our nation's service at Camp Merritt." Would be glad to go back with a camera--was in a hurry this AM, and just wanted to see if he were there. Those were big "Spanish flu" days at military camps--did his obit mention that? If you want to follow up, now knowing he died in Bergen County, you could get a death certificate from the state, or I could check for a local obit next time I'm at the Hackensack Library.
