It will reopen next year as a hospice. I'm not exactly sure what its function was prior to losing. I think it was a retirement home for religious. It was a convent in its early years and then an orphanage. Any records are probably housed at the Newark Archdiocese whose Archives are at Seton Hall University. phone # is 973-761-9476.
