Am trying to determine the parents and Revolutionary War Service of the following man: John DENNIS, b. abt. 1755 and lived in York Co.,PA (now Adams Co.,PA). He was part of the Conewago Colony (Dutch Reformed Church) group who came from Somerset & Bergen Cos.,New Jersey abt. 1771, so possibly he was born in NJ. Wondering if he could be the Jno.Dennis who served in the 6th Bn. (substituting for James Dennis) from Lancaster Co.,PA. His wife was Anna Barbara SEILER, b. 1 Jan 1763, prob. of Lancaster Co., dau. of Ulrich Seiler & Maria Elizabeth Gysi. Maria md. 2)Henry Graff in York Co. & died there in 1802. These two counties border each other. Known children are: Phillip, Anna, and Nancy. Nancy was born 1782 & chr. 1789, married abt. 1800 in Marietta, Washington, Ohio to Alexander BARBER and she died in 1841 in Randolph Co.,IL. Any help appreciated. Thank you.
