Born around 1837 or 1833. His wife was from Florida, Mary and their children were John (lincoln) born 1865, James born 1870, Ella born 1865. Could your John that has a sister Ella be the same? John Francis was a Union officer who served as a commander of Black troops in Manatee Florida, also served at Fredericksburg and Gettysburg. I am looking for information as to where exactly (what community) they were living in during the year 1860. I couldn't find them anywhere in the US census.
