I wonder if you might check out John Henry Newkirk - born Feb. 2, 1841, lived all his life in Bergen - Jersey City - NJ. His name was last mentioned in the 1880 census in Jersey City with his wife Emma C. (Coe) Newkirk. The Jersey City NJ Directories lists him as working in 1892 and 1893, still at his 225 Congress St. address in Jersey City. The 1900 census lists his wife, but not him. Is it possible for you to check the obits from 1890 to 1910 for John Henry Newkirk. I am also looking for his wife's date of death which is probably between 1900 and 1910.
