I know it's been almost 4 years since this post. I am Uipko's great grandson Douglas Keith Stonehouse, formerly of Midland Park. My grandfather was Elmer Jelto Stonehouse and my father Alvin Douglas Stonehouse. I just uncovered the family history of the Steenhuis's from Wildervanck. Uipko's father was Jelto Steinhuis born in 1865 in Wildervanck to parents Lammert Steenhuis(B:1835)/Antje Zuidland. Lammert's wife Antje died in 1879 and he came to America with Jelto in 1880. Jelto is listed in Ridgewood on the 1895 census with Lammert and Jelto and Jelto's wife(Nandala not sure of the spelling) and other child Nancy. Five years later Uipko and Nancy are living as boarders with Lammert in Ridgewood with the Smith family. Not sure what happened to Uipko's parents after 1895 census. Nancy Stonehouse later becomes Nancy Smith of Ridgewood and Glen Rock married to Philip Smith with a son named.! ..Jelto. I have more info if you are interested.
