There is a typewritten transcription, three-and-one-half pages double-spaced, in the collection of the Bergen County Historical Society, entitled "Diary of Bogert Family - Hohokus N.J." The dates range from 1832 to 1850. Who was this Bogert family? The document is with the Bogert family Bible records, in the shelved Bible records binders. I do not know whether it is connected to any of the Bible records. The records were re-ordered at some point. A list of the names mentioned in the diary is below. Included in the records was a double murder: "Murder committed on the body of John Van Winkle and wife Jan 9 1850." Then later: "Johnson executed for the murder of John Van Winkle and wife April 30 1850" Does anyone know anything more about these murders?
