Thanks to all of you who replied regarding the Van Winkle murders! I've been overwhelmed this week but am looking forward to all you've sent. Still wanting to identify that Bogert family -- anyone with any thoughts about that? I had thought that the names mentioned in the diary equalled proximity to these Bogerts, but obviously if the Van Winkle murders took place in Hawthorne that it not so. My g'g'g'grandfather, Abraham Terhune, is mentioned, and that family did live in HoHoKus.
