LOUISA DeGROAT was born about1817 in Haverstraw NY and died about 1892 in Yonkers NY. She married SAMUEL S. COE who was born 10 Jun 1813 in Hempstead (Ramapo) NY and died 19 Sep 1885 in Hersey Heights NJ. He was a tailor. They had 11 children: Erastus - Isaac - Margaret - Emma - Adelaide - Charlotte - Luther - Addison Alger - Louise - Samuel - Horace William. You mentioned a Martha Coe - could she be the daughter of Samuel I. Coe and Mary Conklin, born 8 Oct 1807 in Ramapo? She would be the sister of 'my' Samuel S. Coe who married Louisa DeGroat. In my file I put a question mark next to a "John DeGroat", that he might be Louisa DeGroat's father - but I don't know for sure. You mentioned William DeGrott born about 1777 - I will research that too. I will get back to you for sure - please keep in touch with any information! I am not researching this family but new a few DeGroats in the Hillburn, Sloatsburg and Suffern area back in the 50s-60s. You might want to contact the library there to see if they have any information.
