Migrated to Australia from Hamburg, May 1857 aboard the "Peter Godeffroy" He was conscripted into the army and served as a bandsman . This is all we know about his German origins. Should anyone know of the Gerecke family name, especially from Brunswick going back to that time, any information would be appreciated, as it could help me trace his roots.
