When Harriette died, apparently she devised the mansion to her only daughter, Edith May VAN BUREN (c1858-1914), who in 1900 had married an Italian bogus nobleman named Gennaro Vessicchio Giorgio di Castelmenardo in London. Globetrotting socialite Edith, styled Countess di Castelmenardo, divorced the unfaithful "count" in 1907. She never had any children, so when she died, to whom did she devise the Teaneck mansion? Thomas Van Buren had three sons: Joseph Sheffield VAN BUREN (had a shipping line based in Hong Kong, reportedly), Harold Sheffield VAN BUREN (was US Consul in Nice) and Thomas Brodhead VAN BUREN Jr. I believe that Harold's widow remarried by 1910 to a Maryland-born Nelson R.
