I have Shepard's in my ancestry and have been having a difficult time finding the parents of RACHEL SHEPARD, born Oct. 6, 1785 - died Jan. 16, 1861 in Bergen NJ. All I know of her family is that her father's name was GEORGE SHEPARD. Rachel was married to Garret J. Newkirk (Jul 21, 1780 - Aug. 22, 1818 - Bergen NJ.)
