He then married Eunice Clark in NYC in 1888 with his marriage certificate indicating it was his second marriage. Joseph died in 1894. Trying to confirm first marriage and determine if any children were born in either marriage. He died young of kidney disease and his obit mentioned that he had to give up his Hackensack Coal business due to illness. His father, David D., was apparently a very successful and wealthy food importer in NYC. Joseph's parents are buried at the Old Paramus Church in Ridgewood. Guests are invited to attend the Genealogical Society of Bergen County (GSBC)?meeting on Monday, September 22, 2008 at 7pm.? Meetings are held in the?Auditorium?at the Ridgewood Public Library on North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ.? Following a brief business meeting, our?evening's presenter, David Kleiman, will deliver?his very successful presentation which he first?introduced to the NY DAR in January 2008.? Topic: "Local Farmer -> American Patriots -> Royal Lineage" David Kleiman, will present a case study of an actual genealogical project from the initial family interview to web searches (both standard and specialized web pages) to site visits in the towns and counties where the family resided.? Follow the work flow (using computers all the way) from choosing a database to outwitting the state archives on-line database to retrieve valuable information.? We started from the question: "is this family legend true or false?" and wound up with a genealogical line that reflects the origins of religious tolerance in colonial US and even an earlier Royal surprise!?? There is no fee to attend this program.? Light refreshments available.? If you have any questions/concerns, please email me directly at Burgenlaenderin@aol.com Margaret Kaiser GSBC Program Chair

Had some more luck with Susannah. Peter Cole and Susannah Latourette actually had a marriage license issued in the "Province of" New York on 07 Apr 1764. (The same year Henry Latourrette got a marriage license with Sarah Wood.) They baptized son Henry: "Born 1765 Feb. 6 Baptized March 31; Peter Cole & Susanna, his wife, child Henry" in St. Andrew's Church as per Staten Island Church Records, by Tobias A Wright. Sarah Latourette of Richmond County, New York; widow; left a gift in her will to John Cole (son of Peter and Susannah Cole). File 10109 L. XL:210 Calendar of Wills XI: 1806-1809 as per Staten Island Wills and Letters of Administration, by Charlotte M Hix As per Annals of Staten Island by J J Clute, New York:Press of Chas. Vogt, 1877. p 400 "Henry [Latourette] of Fresh Kills, weaver, made his will. Morris' Memorial History of Staten Island, Vol II page 100, speaks a bit of the family, mentioning that will. I'm guessing that Henry m1. Susannah and m2. Sarah.
