It's a pretty good sized house. You don't see it from the front, but Google earth may be able to view it for you. Give this a shot and you will see the house. It has a brown roof. We use this site for housing market values in bankruptcies. She is the daughter of Joost DeBaun b. 1641 and Elizabeth Drabbe b. 1660. They were married 13 October 1681 in Middleburg, Zeeland, Netherlands. They had 5 children: Matie, Jacobus b. 1683, Christaen b. 1687, Charles b. 1692 and Catharina b. 1695. I believe there are quite a few Demarest descendents who live in NJ, especially Bergen County. There are also a few Demarests who married into my Storms line as well. She also claims to be asking for personal information from the family to tie in a recent death in the family with a new marriage in the family. Claimed to be a cousin of the deceased, but my father who is almost 90 now never recalls meeting Ms. Lawrence directly, but his family descendents did spend time in both New York and New Jersey in the late 1800's. Claimed to be a cousin of Mrs Richard Sleight who was Josephine Sleight(married name) or Josephine Riddell before she married and her father was Sanford S. Riddell and mother was Josephine Bourne. Any ties or knowledge of a Shaw connection to this family would be interesting. Richard Sleight an attorney had his father as Rector George Nisbet Sleight and mother Isabella Lee whose father was a Charles Lee from New York City. Rector George N Sleight graduated from General Theological Seminary prior to 1850.
