Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/gRB.2ACI/1748.1 Message Board Post: Hackensack's Johnson Library has the Record which goes back pretty far and would probably cover Ridgefield. For Rutherford it might be in the Passaic Library, haven't been there but there is a paper from there that covers south Bergen. Edgewater, not sure about that at all. That could be covered by Hudson County papers, but maybe someone else knows better than I do on this. You could call the reference desk at the Johnson Library and they could help you. There's a man that works in the microfilm section who is very helpful and knowledgeable about the papers. Good Luck

The others should be available in the federal archives. You may have to take a trip to your local archive center. It would help if you knew more information than just Bergen County as that will be a large undertaking. Also, try a local Family History Center (LDS church) as they may have copies that you could order from Salt Lake. Also have you gone to the GenForum website to look to see what is there for you KAHN. You could post in the KAHN, NJBergen forums and so on. John

(The Record is the major newspaper for this area.) There was no obituary for Maria Jackowski. There may still be a paid death notice for her; this will not appear in the online database that I have access to. Try going to the Genealogical Society of Bergen County web site, and sending in a request through that. A volunteer who is going to one of the libraries may be able to help you.
