Jack-my cardioligist asked me what coumadin meant to me- I replied that it meant no green veggies to eat - he was angered at the medical report telling me -he told me if I ate a baleful of greens then it would be a prblem - coumadin should mean being careful when entering a car not to bump my head - be careful of falls, sharp knives and my daughter who was with me jumped in and said no going to shopping center on my own which is walking across a 4 lane highway - she made me promise not to do this anymore - also it means wearing an id that tells I am on anticoagulant medication - ai do enjoy greens now -glaad you are off coumadin - wish I could -for i hate going for blood tests - they are once a month now and not weekly- Marie G

My cardiologist did not want me eating any of the dark green vegetables or soy because it interfered with the action of coumadin. That being said it seems that eating too much of the stuff could contribute to blood clots. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Just two months ago my brother had a problem and the blood was clotting in his heart.
