Robin, Thank you, I have always thought of Hackettstown as a beautiful little town. It has grown and changed quite a bit over the years. It was a great town to grow up in. It was alot smaller and all of the stores were on or adjacent to Main St. Now there are a lot of Antique/Craft type stores there. Malls were just coming into being in the country back then and were very small compared to those we now have. Everyone knew everyone and if they didn't know you, believe me, they knew your parents or relatives. My mother used to know what we were doing before we ever got home. I used to call the telephone my mother's grapevine. LOL Our school was a district school for several small towns and townships. Some of them had their own grammar schools. So when we reached high school age we met the kids our age from the neighboring small towns. If you came in from Washington, then I believe you are talking about Donaldson's Produce Stand. It is still there. Donaldsons' own a farm off of Rockport Rd. My brother went to school with his brother and used to spend alot of time down on that farm. Pat Pat
