People who have certain types of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) are at higher risk for Type II diabetes in later life. The problem in both cases is glucose intolerance. While we all need to watch our weight, anyone who has either chronic hypoglycemia or family members with Type II diabetes need to be especially careful. So do women who have had gestational diabetes during pregnancy.
