That beats what happened to me back in Union, NJ, four years ago. I'd gone back for my 40th high-school reunion, and I decided to try to find the house where my cousins had lived back in the 1940s. It took a bit of searching, since they'd moved out in 1950 or so, and I hadn't been there since. But I actually found it and took a few pictures. I was still working on the pictures when the next-door neighbors came out of their driveway in their car and stopped to look at me. Since I was sure that I looked suspicious, I explained what I was up to. The woman asked me, "Was that the Beattys that lived there?" I said that it was. It seemed that she'd grown up in that house next door and had lived there all those years, not moving out even when she got married. And when she told me her name, I remembered having played with her a half century ago. 3. Doris, Wasn't that neat for both of us. I had a call from her over the weekend and lo and behold am waiting now for a call from someone that lived across from me many years ago in High Bridge. She has a PC so now will catch up with a lot of news. Loved seeing all those good ole names in the graves including the Beatty family. We have different names down here. lol. The German Valley is still as lovely as it was years ago. This was the only trip back for me in 18 yrs. except and overnight one 7 yrs. ago and then not to look or see anything.
