    3. Hi Marie, Pets are a blessing and when we lose one its very upsetting. Lost Schroeder 4 yrs. ago and I still go outside and look at where he's buried. Glad we have Bennie he is a blessing too. How are the blueberries down where you are. I remember going to the south jersey and picking and canning them. Made a great Blueberry Buckle and a Slump. Hey Diesel I'll send it to you, I know you bake. I just made peaches for a dessert and bisquick has bugs, I forgot about that this year. So made a yellow loaf cake and will use half for the peaches and icing the other half. Ginnie its your fault for talking blues. Hey Ruth are you in the area of the farms?? 3. Hi - About 5 minutes away there is an old blueberry farm that has not been in operation for over 6 or 7 years - believe owner is holding out for a development as it is just about 10 minutes from the ocean and Asbury Park.....It's such a shame to see all those berries going to waste but do know that some "locals" do climb the fence and pick!. By the way, just in case some listers haven't kept up with the news....Asbury Park is finally beginning to turn around....lots of new upscale restaurants and the beachfront is undergoing total redevelopment. Also many of the great old homes are being restored by members of the gay community moving down from Manhattan. 3. Hi Ruth, Can you believe we have Blueberries out back here in NC. I am past the age of pickin, but enjoy thinking about the past when I did. A shame to let things go when they could be eaten. However I know how it would be if someone got hurt. I remember onthe Eastern shore where we lived we could go over the fields after the green picker had left, and pick. A lot the picker missed. In the fall same thing with the Sweet taters (ok Diesel) now I am not sure one can do that I've been gone for 8 yrs. I am so pleased to hear about Asbury Park upgrading. I took my children there in the 50's and such a pretty place.
