Hi, So glad to hear that everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I am thankful for my NJ Memory friends, always there with a listening ear or to share a memory or bring a smile or laugh. We had turkey, bread stuffing, praline sweet potatoes, scalloped corn, shrimp merliton stuffing, merliton/shrimp soup, fruit salad, scalloped oysters(my husband and I eat those), rolls, sweet potato and pecan pies. And chicken stew which is like a fricassee(?). One of my husbands family things, along with dirty rice. Dirty rice is a mixture of rice, liver, gizzards with green onions and parsley. We don't generally eat like this. Half yankee and half cajun French. Blew my weight watchers to heck and back. Pat
Our family was not together this year on Thursday, but we were together Friday,Saturday ,and Sunday. The grandchildren were all here,as well as Jen and Chris,Doug and Jackie. It was Jen's 15th reunion from Collingswood High.We kept the girls while she and Chris partied. Nick, our 8 year old eldest grandchild, and his sister Kelly 6,helped Tom and me light the first Advent candle in church at the 11 o'clock service. That was quite special for us. Doug and his brother-in-law went to the Eagles game yesterday.[they even did them the favor of winning for a change!] Our Thanksgiving,Tom's and mine, was spent with dear friends who live in Deptford..We had shrimp cocktail, turkey, stuffing, shoepeg corn, green bean casserole,my sweetpotato casserole, cole slaw, cranberry sauce, apple and pumpkin pies and ice cream or whipped cream. Whew!We have spent all of next weeks calories. :-) The day after Thanksgiving five of us went to Wheaton Village for their annual craft sale. The vendors sell all the glass ,pottery, and jewelry they have created through the year. What a South Jersey treasure we have in Millville! I got a paperweight for $10.00.That was quite a buy!Two Christmas bottles were added to my collection, and some handblown vinegar and oil cruets for my girls for Christmas topped off my purchases..In the general store, they had Christmas globes for oil lamps for sale for $5.00.My lamps are now ready for Christmas, too. After eating a yummy lunch at the Paperwaiter Restaurant adjoining the village,we headed home tired, but quite happy. Today rounds off our weekend of memory building with the celebration of Tom's and my 41st.Anniversary.How blessed we are and very thankful. Jerilyn
Well you little scamp. Right here next to my wigwam and you didn't call or even send smoke signals. But I'm glad you had a good time. BTW Hamburger Heaven is now open. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Thomas Henderson" <thos@comcast.net> To: <NJ-MEMORIES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 28, 2005 11:43 AM Subject: Re: [NJ-Memories] Re: Thanksgiving and friends > Our family was not together this year on Thursday, but we were together > Friday,Saturday ,and Sunday. The grandchildren were all here,as well as Jen > and Chris,Doug and Jackie. > It was Jen's 15th reunion from Collingswood High.We kept the girls while > she and Chris partied. > Nick, our 8 year old eldest grandchild, and his sister Kelly 6,helped Tom > and me light the first Advent candle in church at the 11 o'clock > service. That was quite special for us. > Doug and his brother-in-law went to the Eagles game yesterday.[they even > did them the favor of winning for a change!] > Our Thanksgiving,Tom's and mine, was spent with dear friends who live in > Deptford..We had shrimp cocktail, turkey, stuffing, shoepeg corn, green bean > casserole,my sweetpotato casserole, cole slaw, cranberry sauce, apple and > pumpkin pies and ice cream or whipped cream. > Whew!We have spent all of next weeks calories. > :-) > The day after Thanksgiving five of us went to Wheaton Village for their > annual craft sale. The vendors sell all the glass ,pottery, and jewelry they > have created through the year. What a South Jersey treasure we have in > Millville! > I got a paperweight for $10.00.That was quite a buy!Two Christmas bottles > were added to my collection, and some handblown vinegar and oil cruets for > my girls for Christmas topped off my purchases..In the general store, they > had Christmas globes for oil lamps for sale for $5.00.My lamps are now > ready for Christmas, too. > After eating a yummy lunch at the Paperwaiter Restaurant adjoining the > village,we headed home tired, but quite happy. > Today rounds off our weekend of memory building with the celebration of > Tom's and my 41st.Anniversary.How blessed we are and very thankful. > Jerilyn > > > ============================== > Jumpstart your genealogy with OneWorldTree.
