Halloween was my favorite holiday growing up. I would ponder for months what I was going to be. I even dressed up with my kids when I took them out trick or treating. It is a bit dissappointing to take kids out nowadays. I would always be eating the candy while I went from house to house. Now Mom and/or Dad have to inspect the candy brought home for any nuances of tampering before kids can enjoy. With my last two kids I told them not to eat anything till it was brought home. In our area here in PA the kids only go to houses that have porch lights lit and it is so sad to see less and less lit homes every year. I have a grouch living in the other half of my house who has control of the lights and won't put the porch lights on, I think they just don't want to buy the candy sooooooooooo SAD. My alternative is to visit with my daughter in the next town whose doorbell never stops and we see many many kids having so much fun. It reminds me of my funtime in Newark when there were be kids everywhere having a blast. Ellen
