It was right over the heater in the basement. It was just a big grill in the floor in the dinning room. My dad would fire up the heater with coal before he want to work in the AM, and us kid's would run downstairs in the morning, and get dressed on it. There was no heat anywhere else in the house, only vents in the ceiling's for the heat to get upstairs. In those days, my Mom would heat bricks and put them at the end of our beds to keep our feet warm during the night. The good old days. Diesel
