So nice to keep the old fashioned Christmas's yet. We had real Trees in Jersey, but we had the German Cedar's, and never got away from them till we moved to Va. 20 yrs. ago, then a fake tree. Ugh!!. I always wanted a large tree and one year couldn't go pick it out at the farm, so my Dad, cousin and Frank went for it. I was in the upstairs bedroom when they returned and they flopped it up to the window and said "Is this big enough" lol we did top it. Now I have a small white ceramic Tree that one of my girlscouts gave me 60 yrs. ago (Susan N.J.) and sit it on a TV in the Wicker room and from the road looks like a tall tree. My Norfolk got so big outside this year I tied little red bows on it and thats in the Window. I still have candles in all my windows also. One of the nice things I have is a Crèche made by Frank. It is over a ft. long and 10" high and holds all my old Ceramic Nativity pieces. I put straw in the manager and I have sand on the desert. for the Wise men and Camels. Have a large pan that holds all this. Norma in the Christmas spirit this morning. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Up2Nutrix@aol.com> To: <NJ-MEMORIES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, December 05, 2002 12:23 AM Subject: [NJ-Memories] Re: misc. > In a message dated 12/4/2002 2:04:33 PM Mountain Standard Time, > NJ-MEMORIES-D-request@rootsweb.com writes: > > > How..does everyone decorate for Christmas ? > > > > We have the nice big C9 colored lights along the roofline and in the > ponderosa pine next to the front porch, and I string one of the > "old-fashioned" (in style seven or eight years ago) chaser mini-light strings > on the front railing.
