Doris - Hope your sore throat is history when you read this - are you gargling with salt water - Back in the 1980's I had a sore throat and wanted to gargle with salt water and a little drop of iodine - had none - went to drug store and I was told NO!! - they answered me as if I was Lucretia Borgia ---same thing when I wanted to buy Boric Acid another time for a sty eye wash -----No more of that stuff over the counter - wonder if we can get that GI Gin - Hydro Turpin something it was called (real name) Marie G
Hi, Can I jump in. When I get pink eye they gave me Boric Acid. The doctors still do. I cannot take sulfa drug antibiotics. I also had it for a sty. Bosch & Lomb makes it. It is a prescription however. I remember my grandmother giving me Lydia Pinkum pills for female problems. It worked really good. She got it from the pharmacist behind his counter (not a prescription) now you have to order it on the internet. Times have changed.
