Hi all, Anyone enjoying the Cicadas visit as much as we are here in MD? The noise is like a loud hum, very weird, not like their summer relatives They are everywhere, all over the decks, in the pool and lawn. I always remove them from the pool, hate to see them drown when their life span is so short. Dogs think they make a tasty meal and the cats think they are here as toys. ( As soon as I catch a cat with one I rescue it) Anyone out there been hit with Sudden Oak Death? My two beautiful Rhododendrons seem to have it. I contacted MD Dept. of Agri. which sent me a kit in which to submit samples. I understand that it isn't always fatal so I'm hopeful.
