    3. That is a great idea and safe too. Lots of children don't get out to trick or treat so something for them. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Tacy413408@aol.com> To: <NJ-MEMORIES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 13, 2005 9:34 PM Subject: Re: [NJ-Memories] Trick or Treat > Hi, > > Halloween was always one of my favorite holidays, also. 2. Hi, Halloween was always one of my favorite holidays, also. We started two or three nights before Halloween. Remember doorbell night, the night we threw dried corn on porches or used our tic-tacs on the windows, soaped windows, etc. The trickery was more fun than the treats. We never did any of the destructive things. Wouldn't have been able to sit for a month. LOL In our old house we got fewer and fewer children over the years. Now in the country we get none. My grandaughter has our house decorated. We have a huge spider web stretched across a triple window in the kitchen. LOL The giant pumpkin is outside. They sent home a notice from school that on the 29th they will have car trick or treating. You can decorate your car and bring candy and line up along the street by the school. Then the children trick or treat to each and every car. That is different. Pat

    2. Halloween was my favorite holiday growing up. I would ponder for months what I was going to be. I even dressed up with my kids when I took them out trick or treating. It is a bit dissappointing to take kids out nowadays. I would always be eating the candy while I went from house to house. Now Mom and/or Dad have to inspect the candy brought home for any nuances of tampering before kids can enjoy. With my last two kids I told them not to eat anything till it was brought home. In our area here in PA the kids only go to houses that have porch lights lit and it is so sad to see less and less lit homes every year. I have a grouch living in the other half of my house who has control of the lights and won't put the porch lights on, I think they just don't want to buy the candy sooooooooooo SAD. My alternative is to visit with my daughter in the next town whose doorbell never stops and we see many many kids having so much fun. It reminds me of my funtime in Newark when there were be kids everywhere having a blast. Ellen

    3. Wow!! Someone that knows how to make Pizza sauce. You have to add sugar to Spaghetti sauce also to make good, Wish I could come up and have some. Old Italian family gave me a receipe that puts raisens in the meatballs. That gives them a sweet taste also, but so good. ----- Original Message ----- From: <ELLEN542@aol.com> To: <NJ-MEMORIES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 11, 2005 4:47 PM Subject: [NJ-Memories] Pizza sauce > Marie, > > We have a pizza business and make our dough from scratch daily.
