Hi Diezel and All: I know exactly what you are talking about. I left North Bergen in 1955, I would go back maybe twice a year for the next 30 years, every time I returned it was worse and worse. I don't know why people have to throw things out of the cars. I drove back to Union City for my high school reunion in 2000 and it was very discouraging. My parents are buried in the Weehawken Cemetery in NB, I haven't been there since 2000. When my daughter comes up from FL in July I hope she will drive me there. I've lurked in the background and saw the posts. Jim sorry I didn't get to see you while you were in Farmingdale. My sister flew in from CA the same day. Hope you had a nice visit. Take care everyone. It's a hot one here in Jersey. Ann in Farmingdale In a message dated 6/21/2006 7:08:07 P.M. They are still working on Rt. 78 from the cut off for the free bridge to Easton, to the old rest area. It's been about three years now, and still a lot to go yet. They are building a rest area on the South side, about where the chicken coop is. For all you none truck drivers, the chicken coup is the truck weigh station. The old Rt. 69, now Rt. 31 is finished all the way to Flemington. If it wasn't for the Railroad bridge in Flemington, it probably would be four lanes all the way to the Flemington Circle. The Flemington Fair Grounds are no longer there. Plowed under just like all the other good memory's along Rt. 31. They are building a new Walmart where the fair grounds used to be. Karen's soft ice cream at Rt. 31 & 534 is also gone. Trenton is still the same. Anyone who lived in Trenton back in the 40s - 60s and went back for a visit would be very upset with the way downtown look's today. I had to pick up a birth & marriage cert. for my sister on South Stockton St. It turned out it was in the old Sears building. I also had to go to City Hall. I drove down the street where my mother grow up (North Stockton St.). Oh my what a mess. What's the big deal about buying a can of paint, and a glass window? How sad to see what has happened to Trenton. Its' not only the people that live there, but the city it's self. I drove to Cuyler Ave where I used to live, another disaster. The old Cook School on Cuyler St. that closed when they built a new school on State St. was turned into a storage place for city of Trenton, They moved out, and it is also a disaster Windows broken out, dirt every where. I think this will be my last visit to that area. I would like to remember it the way it was when I was growing up in the Forty's & Fifty's. Hi List, The iHop commercial is driving me crazy. I know the man who says "French Toast Week at iHop?" and gets on the elevator but, for the life of me, I can't place him. Anybody know who he is? Dot

Hi All, Good to hear from so many on the list. Thanks again to all who responded to our concerns about gas shortages in the U.S at the end of April. We experienced no problems and found gas cheaper and our consumption much less than we thought it would be. Camping during the month of May in the U.S. was very cold and wet wherever we went, even in Georgia, although that seems to have changed now. We spent ten days with Matt who is still in the U.S. Marine Corps and is presently deployed to Augusta, GA, and a week in Monmouth County, NJ. Glad to see Asbury Park and Long Branch making a comeback. It was good to back in New Jersey but we couldn't take the pace of life nor the high cost of living there. Carl, I never told you that the raccoon electric fence worked beautifully. 3" hot, 3" ground, 3" hot, 3" ground, 3" hot. Not an ear of corn touched until I turned it off in September. Immediately the raccoons rushed in for the "leftovers". I'll be using it again in a few weeks. My "Atrial Fibrillation" seems to be under control and we had no problems traveling. The weather here on Prince Edward Island has been unusually warm all winter and spring. Everything is three weeks early which means a lot of work catching up with the grass and gardens. Have fun all, Jim from Prince Edward Island.

What has everybody been doing? We got back last week from visiting our greatgrandaughter (and of course her Mom and Dad) in Kevil, Ky. I must say you live in a beautiful state. But I sure could have done without the rain. LOL Dot Hi everyone. Carl, I thought you got lost. I just drove through your wonderful state of Ky. also. I left Florida on Rt. 75 May 28th and drove up on interstate's 75 most of the way before changing to 71 and 90 to Lock Port, NY. Motor home made good time towing my work car. I have plenty of work up here this summer to keep me busy for a few month's. Then I intend to travel for a few months before returning to the Sun Shine state for the winter. Glad to see most old friends back on Memories again. I'll be spending some time in NJ doing genealogy research this summer. If anyone needs cemetery pictures or anything else, let me know and I'll do my best. Most of my Disbrows are from the Freehold area, so I'll be spending some time around there. Weather is nice right now here in Lockport, in the 70's. I'll be in Jersey next Tuesday, and have to stop in Trenton for my pork roll. If anyone wants to get together for a lunch this summer let me know. Best to all, Diesel
Gosh I took a peak and couldn't believe my eyes...old gang still around. I am here in FL and working at the concession stand at the Jackie Robinson park here in Daytona. Our home team is the A Team for the Cubs. Some nights 'Cubby' the cute big bear who is mascot works next to me. I can send to individuals a copy of picture of Cubby. Many health issues here for Hubby and me but we are getting along. Glad to see everyone again. Carl you are remarkable. just a typical NJ guy... keeps on trucking....grin. Catch you all soon. Hello All! I'm still here too! I have been all along, but wasn't able to post messages with my prior internet service. Just changed that and here I am again. It's great seeing all the familiar names again. Prior postings mentioned the holly plant. Over the past holiday weekend I was watching Food TV and Paula Deen made a fancy cake and decorated it with holly berries and leaves. Interesting! Just plain old frosting will do it for me. Been hot here the last three days. We've had rain but it didn't do much to cool it off at all. I even put the AC on today for the benefit of my dog. I only have one Chow-Chow left now and the heat is hard on her with her two coats of hair. Mamie
