    1. [NJ-Memories] Re: Cars
    2. Hi, I wish I had hung onto my '55 red and white Ford with the white leather seats. Saw a '55 Ford for sale and asked my husband if he wanted to buy it. LOL He is holding out for a "64 Chevy SS with a 327(?) engine. It had 4 on the floor. He has been crying over that car since we traded it in 1970. I bought my Ford second hand and it belonged to a little old lady who drove it to church. They never mentioned that she had glass packs and a Rutgers sticker on it. She must have been some little old lady. ROFL Pat

    3. Jerilyn, Sounds like you had a great time! I was there quite a few years ago shortly after back surgery so I was wearing a chairback brace and couldn't do most of the attractions. Shouldn't have been walking around either! But we really enjoyed the scenery. Went to St. Catherine's in Canada to see the canal, also went to the Taylor vineyard. That was my first glimpse into winemaking. 3. Jerilyn, This was one of his funniest Johnny Carson. I always watched Johnny ,how I'll never know as I worked then, and now I can't get past 11:00 at night. You send the funniest and nicest emails, wish I could do with my machine what you do with yours. Yes I liked Nels too. Does anyone remember him in the White house married to the Presidents daughter? I can't come up with the name of that show. Norma

I bought that car from my dad for something like $800 in 1961 and sold it a year and a half later for about a hundred bucks less. The only reason I sold it was that I had moved to NYC and had neither the need nor the place for a car. I wish now that I'd hung onto the thing . . . I remember Gorgeous George and his golden bobby pins the cologne spraying around and his "man," Geoffrey; Antonino "Argentina" Rocca; Paddy Young; Lou Pertucci; and a bunch of faces whose names escape me. My parents and I watched those wrestling matches every Friday night -- wouldn't have thought of missing them. We all knew who the "good guys" and the "dirty wrestlers" were. 3. Jerilyn, We always had White Castle hamburgers. Guess that was in northern NJ because when we moved to Neptune we couldn't find any. The closest one was in Edison on rte 1 and we went there when the craving was too bad. 2. Jerilyn, That story was hilarious. I could just hear your childish, outraged voice. LOL My cousin had this very refined great aunt that visited every so often. She was probably in her 60's(at least) and very refined and lady like. Sweetest person. Then wrestling would come on and she would be in the room right up nearly against the tv. She would shake her fist and yell and curse the wrestlers. I was in shock the first time I saw that. Who would ever have thought that that sweet, gentle, lady would ever talk and act like that? Wrestling evidently brought out the best(sic) in all people. I can still picture her. Pat Pat

Our TV was a Dumont with a large magnifying glass over a 7 inch screen.I remember Gorgeous George's fights .The screaming adults would wake me up ,but what really got me awake was the smell of White Tower hamburgers with fried onions.I would yell from my room,"You guys are eating hamburgers!".Then they would sheepishly come and pick me up out of my bed ,and let me come in to join them. 2. Jerilyn Your trip to Niagara sounds wonderful. I was there about 10 years ago and still tell everyone how wonderful and trip. I didn't go on the Maid of the Mist nor did I take that helicopter ride over the falls. I did go on the tour behind the falls in the rocks and that was scary.
