    3. Hi Carolyn, To reply do you hit reply button or reply to all? I had this trouble. It only works if you hit reply to all. You will get a copy of the message twice. When I get the message 2x's I erase both or at least one of them. You said you are getting everyone's messages---correct? Also, when using Incredimail like we do you can only use the plain text on MEMORIES. Hope this helps Robin PS: Did you get my email with the web-site of Rootsweb and how to subscribe to this site? Actually, digest mode works exactly like the regular mode in terms of getting mail and posting answers. I get digest mode so that I can skim through and read only what I want to; it saves me valuable time. But I answer stuff the same way I did when I was getting individual postings. Most of the time I'm pretty "up," but if someone met me for the first time on a day when I got up on the wrong side of bed and was crabby, I'm afraid they'd get an awful first impression on me. I keep thinking of a story I heard once (or maybe more than once) about a girl who was applying for a job that she wanted badly and had an interview scheduled. She worked and worked to get herself looking exactly right, went over her qualifications and the points she wanted to make about herself until she was almost dizzy from the repetition, and then headed off for the interview. She stepped onto the elevator with all sorts of butterflies in her stomach, and then someone on the crowded elevator backed into her and tromped right on her toes -- all 250 pounds of him. She totally lost her cool and yelled, "You stupid, clumsy oaf . . . can't you look where you're putting your feet?" It wasn't until she was ushered into the office of her prospective boss that she found out that he was the "clumsy oaf." End of interview. It was unfortunate, but her first impression was ruined because she was nervous and upset. Perhaps that's what happened with MacRae and Thomas, so maybe we should give each of them the benefit of the doubt . . . 2. Yes, Lee and I did our share of Celebrity Stalking LOL.............we saw Brenda Lee and Paul Anka on the Dick Clark Show. Ed (Kookie) Burns was a riot, Lee was more interested in the cops on their horses than chasing him LOL. Bobby Darin was a doll Lee and I snuck backstage after the concert (Mosque Theater) and we got into his dressing room. He was a doll, so nice to us, I still have his autograph. Joanne Campbell and Teddy Randazzo were on that show too. The Clay Cole shaw was at the Mosque Theater we were real teeny boppers, they wanted a girl to sit on a bench when Fabian sang and they picked our friend Sharon to do it. Lee and I hated her after that LOL.......... I met Harry Belafone after a concert here a few years ago, very nice and friendly. Also got to meet Ricky Nelson after another concert here about a year before he died, he was still as handsome as ever. Pat Cooper the comedian was nice too. Ellen ps..........I'm shocked over Gordon MacRea and Danny Thomas being like that, but you never know.........

    1. [NJ-Memories] Sugar Cookies (Cakes??)
    2. Robin M. Stinson
    3. Hi Everyone, Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year. I found a Sugar Cookie (Cakes) recipe in the Salem County Cook Book I thought I would share with everyone. For years my grandmother had an old sugar cookie recipe from her grandmother that was meant to be baked in a wood-stove. These are not really cookies but what they used to call sugar cakes. So she had it converted to an electric stove many years ago. I remember that it called for milk and adding a certain amount of vinegar to curdle the milk. So I cannot remember how much milk to Vinegar to use. So when I found the recipe it did not say how much vinegar to use with the milk. So in my Salem County Cookbook I found another sugar cookie (Cakes) recipe. In this recipe you have to mix the baking soda with your milk. I guess it is the same. I tried this recipe and it wonderful. I suggest that when you place a spoonful of the batter on the cookie sheet sprinkle sugar or even color sugar on top (depending on the occasion or holiday). If you have any questions let me know. If anyone knows how much vinegar to milk I need to use let me know. Love, Robin Here is the recipe: SUGAR COOKIES 1 cup milk 1 tsp. baking soda 4 cups unsifted flour 2 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. vanilla œ tsp. salt 2 cups sugar 1 cup shortening 2 eggs Put soda into milk. Combine dry ingredients. Cream sugar and shortening, add the eggs, and continue to blend. Add dry ingredients, alternately with the milk mixture and vanilla. Drop by teaspoon close together on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 15min. Yield 5 dozen By: Helen S. Nixon

We're badly behind for this winter; usually we've had about six or eight inches of snow by now, and we've had mostly nothing but dustings. And the snowpack along the Continental Divide is low again, not enough to make a dent in our drought when it melts off next spring. 3. Hi Memories people, May your confidence stand in the face of loss and give you the strength to rebuild. To this I add, I am rebuilding. I have not been on much as my Son Frank and friend Bryan were here the last 10 days. Bryan we thought had the flu for a few days, but we now think raw oysters he ate at one of the restaurants. The rebuilding I am doing is the loss of mega folders of friends I had on Outlook. Lost genealogy and a few Web sites. Whatever, from now on they go on floppies. Enjoyed all your posts about squirrels, and have all the emails sent to me lately. Miss all the chatter so will get to the list as soon as possible. Jerilyn, Back to you... >>HEALTH AND PROSPERITY FOR 2003 To our dear family and friends, happy new year!<<< Carl, I can't come Monday but maybe later. Save some Pot pie. Dot, glad you made Fla. and working on the mildew. Tell Billy I did not like that last football game. Thanks Doris, I have read all your emails and fdw's. Sharon, I did save your grandson's picture, thank heavens it was in my Documents. Lee, green and white is great. I have a little yellow in the kitchen but mostly G&W. I will write to all as soon as I take care of things I have neglected for 10 days. I can't believe I sat around and did nothing, well I did make some great meals and we also went out twice. The boys left the place spotless, what a help they were. Frank did all the outside work for Frank Sr. so thats a biggie. I didn't want my husband falling off the roof while cleaning the shatters off. Bye, have a Great New Years. Norma

    3. Doris, We have our feeders on a pole in the yard with a baffle below them. It is funny to see the squirrels try to figure out how to bypass the baffle. Of course it doesn't work if you have a tree close by because they can jump from the tree to the top of the feeder.
