Does anyone remember just what year the Clam Broth House had to admit women - guess this is a question for NJ Memories - unfortunately very few subscribers to that list show much interest in Hudson County!!! ----- Original Message ----- From: RC To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, August 08, 2004 12:48 PM Subject: Re: [NJHUDSON-L] Clam Broth House I hope that they replace it with a restaurant with decent food. Right now I'm just a little bit lighter. They did smash that kidney stone and all is well. It took about 45 minutes of zapping but I never felt a thing. All I could hear was a snapping sound. It really was a snap. They no longer put you in a tub of water. They just focus the sound wave to the stone. From the time I walked in till I walked out was about 2 hours and 30 minutes of that was waiting for the doc to show up. If anyone needs a stone removed this is definitely the way to go. And many many thanks to all for the prayers. Maybe that's what made it so easy.
Joyce, I can indeed relate to your loss of your husband as my husband of 44 years passed away (from a 15 month battle with colon cancer) on June 29th. Be strong, have faith and keep your memories in your heart. With heartfelt sympathy. Jack we are hanging in with you, let us know. Our prayers go out to you. I think your Dr. has a handle on things and will take the best route. I dislike hold ups but bear with it. Just got a phone call from the doc. He says my stone is borderline iffy. The problem is that it is just the right size to maybe create a problem. When he tries to disintegrate it and it starts moving it might get hung up in that part of the bowel that he used to re-pipe me. Then I would have to be transported to Cooper Hospital in Camden and they would go in through my back to get the pieces of stone out. So tomorrow he will take another x-ray and if it's not to big he will continue with the procedure. Otherwise he will put it off until we can make arrangements with Cooper which might be a better thing with my heart condition considered. I won't know what's happening till about 1:30 tomorrow afternoon.
Its about time, get it done and over with. Will it be pound or surgery. My daughter has one more to go a big one. Catch you when you come back. I don't remember her either and have been on the list for years. Where is Annandale Frank? Donna? Judy?. Have not heard from Ann Wickie since she had her operation. Write off line for Grace's last name. Miss Faye also, but she does check us out. So many have left. Dear Dot, I am sorry to say that I somehow missed ever getting to know Grace.Don't know why our paths never crossed on the list, but I just went back in the archives and read all of her postings. She seemed like a wonderful lady, and quite a tribute to our wonderful state.I pray she is in an even more perfect place than Jersey, even though most of us think our native state is the next best thing to Heaven! :-)No wisecracks from the peanut gallery, folks. Thank you for telling us the sad news ,Dot.Please tell her family that I send my sympathies.
