My grandfather's older brother August SPOOLSTRA / SPOELSTRA (Son of JOHN MARTIN SPOELSTRA) was born 1881 in Ridgewood, New Jersey, while the family was migrating from the Port of New York to the South side of Chicago. I am looking for additional information concerning the SPOOLSTRA / SPOELSTRA surname in New Jersey in the late 1800s to the early 1900s time period. Hi all, I went to the doctor tonight, and he confirmed what I had alreadt suspected;I have pneumonia, double in fact. Both of my lungs are badly filled with fluid, and I sound like a baby's rattle when I breathe. NJ is filled with ragweed and other polutants at the moment, and my allergies have set me up for this infection,I love this dear atate of ours, but sometimes it makes it hard for us allergic people to get a deep breath of fresh air. ;=( I pray that all of you Jerseyites who have relocated to the Sunshine State will be safe from Ivan the Terrible's wrath. My stepfather and his wife will decide tomorrow morning wether to go or stay for this one. They are in Margate, near Ft,Lauderdale.Uncle Eddie is only three weeks away from having had open heart surgery,so a trip north would be difficult ,at best. Jerilyn ,the hacking, coughing ,wheezing one

I just cannot imagine people doing what they are doing to other people. Looters should be shot. This is not the generation I want to remember. All we can do is pray for everyone in the path of this new hurricane. KEY WEST, Florida - Although Hurricane Ivan is at least four days from Florida, if it reaches the state at all, officials in the Keys on Thursday ordered tourists and residents to evacuate. In Grenada American medical students fearful of marauders armed themselves with knives and sticks. When Organ wandered downtown after the hurricane passed, she said she saw bands of men carrying machetes looting a hardware store. She said she saw a bank with a glass facade intact on her way down that was totally smashed when she returned.
I heard from Linda.... at sons. I think ... she is OK thank God. Jersybel
Linda Beach is okay. No bad damage. Electric and phone out since Friday morning but back now. Dot
We arrived home safe. Little damage here on our home, but we did not know that while in motel in Altamonte Springs..... everyone so nice to us there. Went on Thursday. We received 15 inches here in our town so flooding but our community ok. Some lost car ports and added rooms and porches but houses held up woderful. Great work Palm Harbor! Thank you all for your cocern. Now back to next plan for Ivan. Really did not want to be a part of the Greatest Disaster in the history of the USA... but here we are.. smile alive at least... Greetings, Hi everyone. I have been reading some of the MEMORIES email. I have been very busy and I am having a little kidney trouble. Otherwise I'm OK. Our weather here in the Charlotte, NC area is horrendous. We have had twisters and flooding and electrical outages. Down near Rock Hill, SC (near Charlotte) a twister hit this place that contained believe it or not 10,000 turkeys. Now all these turkey's are loose. My son told me this so I have not had chance to verify the facts. If this is true can you imagine all these birds running around? There may also be a major bridge that was damaged that hooks Lake Whylie, SC to Charlotte, NC. Not sure of this. I just got home with Paul my husband. He has been looking for another job. Will let everyone know what pans out. Matt my oldest son is now 18. I made him keep his job for 2 years and if he showed himself responsible then we would start to let him drive. He also had to make enough money as well. Paul and I could not afford to pay his car payment and insurance. Well he proved he could. I had a accident so I was given a Dodge Caravan 1995 for nothing. My insurance is low so I gave him some money to add to his and he got a car on his own. We never had to sign for him. It is a Ford Zx2 2002. It only had 35, 000 miles on it. He got a Gold account contract which included a extended warranty and a bunch of everything. His car was loaded. It's amazing how God took a accident and worked it out for all. Please pray for Paul's job changed. Well gotta go. I do not want to leave my 16 yr. old son home alone (His name is Justin). so he is coming along with us again. I will write later. Love you all, Robin Stinson PS: Lee has been in my mind lately. I miss her. I know you all do as well.
Ginny is safe at home. Perhaps she will put something on here later. I am sure they have their hands full. Lucky they got power a little bit ago. Was worried about them so glad they are back. You keep eyes to the TV for Ivan and hope he heads somewhere else. Spit in the wind in his direction may chase him away. lol Norma ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] ; [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, September 07, 2004 4:07 PM Subject: Re: [NJ-Memories] Safe In a message dated 9/7/2004 2:11:34 PM Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Dot, Glad you're checking in so we know who is safe. For anyone who is trying to reach someone here by phone----if they have a cell phone only and the power is out it will not work. So if you are going to call and it's a cell phone you may not get them but if the phone lines are not down you can get a call through to a regular phone. Norma, be careful. Still a bad storm your way and tornadoes your area. Darned thing is stalled again. Now watching Ivan. Take care, Dot ps no responce from Linda Beach email and I don't have her phone number.

I think Lori will be doing ok. The hospital will have food. Big learning lesson for Rachael. She said never again will she be unprepared. Marie, I hope all is well with your Uncle and his home and his daughters. I think we have all had a great deal of stress with this terrible storm. Our hearts go out to all and those that wait for news. Hope you are doing ok also and getting better with your therapy.
