Pauli -- The Van Voorhees Association has been and is hunting for the ancestry of William (or John William) Voorhees, 1771-1855, who in his latter life lived in or around Cranbury NJ and died there. Some data for him refer to the Stone House which, if accurate, we speculate was in or around Cranbury. Where was the Old Stone House, Somerset County, mentioned by you in the following email? Any leads will be very helpful. Thank you. From the information i have gathered, The Old Stone House was built in 1766 on property that William Annin purchased from his father, John Annan/Annin. The house, which no longer exists was located on Lyons Road as it bends to the right just after the center of Liberty Corner. The town of Liberty Corner, Somerset County, before the Rev. War was called Annins Corner and Boylan Corner. During the Rev. War, it was changed to Liberty corner. In my Morford ancestry, I have a Hannah Voorhees bn 27 Aug 1812 and married to Thomas Morford. I don't have the parents of Hannah. I will keep looking and see what I can find for you. There isn't any Voorhees listed on the Centennial Celebration at the Old Stone House. Will keep your e-mail and see if i can find something for you.
