The NJ Assembly has not yet scheduled this for a vote and if they hear from enough of us - maybe they will either shelve it or send it back to the committee for a rewrite. A huge Thank You goes out to everyone who has contacted NJ Assembly members regarding amending A-1390. Also, I want to encourage anyone who has not already contacted either the sponsors of the bill or your local Assemblyman to do so soon. If we keep the heat on, they'll have to pay attention. GSNJ is working with other groups in NJ (as well as the Federation of Genealogical Societies and the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies) to come up with ways to prevent this bill being enacted in its current form. I hope that we might be able to say we have good news soon - but we can't just sit back and wait for things to happen - we have to make them happen. So - keep writing and let them know we aren't going away anytime soon. As soon as we hear any news about the bill - good, bad, or indifferent - we will let you all know. Thanks again for all the vocal support! Regards, Joan Joan M.
