Hello List My "letter A" mystery is JOEL ALLEN, born 29 Nov 1823, died 20 Jan 1898, buried Mount Hope cemetery in Lambertville. On 14 Nov 1846, in Bordentown, he married Elizabeth Nelson, daughter of Elisha Nelson and Janet Errickson of Monmouth County. Joel's death certificate says his parents are "Champlais Allen and Lizzie Allen". Joel & Elizabeth had three children, Edward D. (1847-1919), Asa Charles (1851-1882) and Elizabeth (1855-1877). Edward was the only child who married; his wife was Margaret Jane Southwick. Edward & Margaret were married at Fieldsboro in Burlington County, 7 Jan 1887. The Trenton Federalist Sept 6, 1824, published a list from Freehold, Monmouth County, of insolvent debtors - this list includes Chamless Allen.
