Was this list first set up just for general information? on all of New Jersey???? And or, for people, like me who really do not know which county my family MILLS were really a part thereof. Some of the present day counties were part of other counties, until they became so populated that they began splitting off from one another. Not unlike the Northwest Territory, that started out just as that. Then was set up by Firelands, Western Reserve, Butler County, then split off from there into present day counties. As I cannot verify all research by others on my immediate surname, (physically hampered) (financially hampered) can only go by what they have posted onto various gene sites. thank you so much.
