    3. Richard- I joined the FTDNA to try to find a connection with a specific group from the Lott family. My gr gr gf was born during the Am Rev and as such there are no records for him to be found. The family is documented from 1652 in Nieu Amsterdam until the present date through certain lines. He is from one of those lines, but until we can verify a line thru DNA from my own brother, we will not be able to go any father back than 5 generations. The closest we have thus found is 19 of 21 markers match and two markers are only 1 step away from the others. Which indicates a mutation in the male line had probably occurred during that 5-8 generation time frame. At least that is what I have been able to discern from the information they have posted on the website. Many of the Lott family went from NY to NJ, CN and PA during the Rev. It is another research method when all else fails! I've been trying to knock down this brick wall for 52 years now and so far no luck. And that is probably more information than you wanted:<))) Peggie Lott Longwell Baker City OR where the temperature dipped to a VERY pleasant 37° last night! No virus found in this outgoing message.
