    3. Hello to all listers, www.familytreedna.com This is a company located in Houston, Texas. I am not affiliated with this company. I have been following 2 dna surname projects. Both of those projects are very interesting to me. One involves my great grandmother, another my uncle. Go to this website, then check on what projects are now going on for your various surnames, be sure to check spelling variations. For example, the surname project for BREWER includes a number of families who actually spell the name as BROWER, and the immigrant ancestor was spelled as BROUWER. For example: my maiden name is MARTIN, which is the 16th most common name in America. There are plenty of dna projects for the name Martin, however none appear to connect to my family, as of yet. If I had a brother, male cousin, male uncle named Martin I would gladly pay for the test, but I do not. I would make sense to check these various surname projects from time to time to see if anyone descended from your same ancestor is participating.
