Hi! I hit a brick wall & couldn't get passed my 2xgreat-grandfather,Thomas Drake, who was born in 1810 MD. Thanks to the results of the Drake DNA Project I was able to break through that brick wall. My cousin agreed to participate. The results say we are related to Captain Francis Drake who came to NH. then NJ. from England in the 1600's. I also got back directly 2 more generations. Now we are working on filling in the blanks between my 4xgreat-grandfather,William Drake,Sr. & Captain Francis Drake. I was extreemly pleased with the results as were my cousins. One thing, it is cheaper if you join a group than do the test individually. Since only male Drake's could participate I collected money from my female Drake cousins so it wouldn't break any of us. I eventually want to upgrade my cousin's results to a 67 marker test(which is the highest test at this time). You have to be prepared to receive any results. You also might find out information you weren't expecting. I was glad we didn't have any surprises in our pedigree! LOL! I think people should try anything legal that would help you find a way to break through a brick wall & that includes DNA testing. It gives you other places to look now. Sincerely, Pam Drake in IN.
